The government’s determination to establish Ghana as a center for inclusive digital transformation and continental technology diplomacy has been reiterated by Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP), Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations.
Speaking at a courtesy call hosted by Mr. Usen Antia, CEO of VOBISS Solutions, the Minister underlined the importance of expanding the digitalization agenda beyond the telecom industry in order to spur innovation in all areas of the economy.
“We must avoid lopsided development,” Hon. George noted. “Connectivity is the bedrock, but we must lay on top of that real transformation in sectors such as education, agriculture, and health through digital tools.”
Through what he called “technology diplomacy,” he also disclosed plans to interact with other African nations, noting that other nations have already expressed interest in Ghana’s innovation and regulatory frameworks.
He said that the ministry intends to take ministerial delegations on a retreat to introduce them to Ghana’s ecosystem, which includes flourishing local tech companies as well as cybersecurity and data protection organizations.
“When these delegations come, we’ll spend a day showing them our regulatory landscape and another day linking them with Ghanaian tech firms. If companies like VOBISS are interested, we’ll bring them in and support them in expanding regionally,” the Minister explained.
Through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he promised the ministry’s assistance in providing technical and diplomatic support to Ghanaian companies venturing into African markets.

This entails introducing people, facilitating interactions between governments, and promoting the export of engineering talent and technical know-how.
The CEO of VOBISS Solutions, Mr. Usen Antia, gave a presentation outlining how his organization plans to assist the ministry’s larger initiatives for digital transformation.
He promoted a cross-sector approach to innovation, pointing out that public sector organizations and non-telecom ministries have a lot of unexplored commercial prospects.
Mr. Antia stated that his organization is eager to support Ghana’s AI rollout plan and collaborate closely with several ministries to create and execute useful digital solutions that promote socioeconomic growth.
The gathering demonstrates the increasing cooperation between public and private sector entities dedicated to boosting Ghana’s digital economy and solidifying its position as a leader in Africa’s technology advancement.
