The unfortunate shooting event in the Oti district that claimed the lives of three pupils saddens the Ministry of Education.
On Thursday, two female pupils at Nkwanta Senior High School were shot, and on Friday, a male student was also struck by a stray bullet.
The regrettable episode occurred as a result of a local tribal feud resurfacing.
The Ministry expresses its condolences to the students and staff of Nkwanta SHS, the relatives of the deceased, and everyone else impacted in the region.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) authorities in the region have been complimented by the Education Minister, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, for their prompt decision to temporarily close the Nkwanta Senior High School till further notice.
In order to allow children to return to a secure learning environment, the Ministry hopes that the disagreement will be resolved quickly and amicably.
