This week, as part of its larger capacity-building efforts, the Service is holding a national-level facilitators’ workshop for the upcoming Nationwide Middle-Level Managers Training on Immunisation through the Expanded Program on Immunisation (EPI), with assistance from partners—Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, WHO Ghana, UNICEF Ghana, PATH, the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), and the Ghana Coalition of NGOs in Health.

The training intends to improve the quality and coverage of immunization services nationwide in accordance with national and international standards, standardize knowledge and skills pertaining to immunization planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, and enhance the technical and managerial capacity of middle-level EPI managers at both the national and sub-national levels.

Additionally, it aims to improve the use of data for decision-making in the management of immunization programs, encourage leadership and coordination among immunization teams at all levels, and support efficient supervision and mentoring procedures.

Additionally, the training will enable our healthcare professionals to effectively communicate with communities and encourage their adoption of immunization services.
