Accra’s mayor, Hon. Michael Kpakpo Allotey, has urged citizens to attend the Ghana AIDS Commission’s next community medical outreach, which is being organized in collaboration with Her Excellency Lordina Mahama, the First Lady of the Republic of Ghana.

He stated that the event, which is in line with the Assembly’s overarching objective of advancing public health and enhancing the quality of life for Accra’s residents, will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, July 4, 2025, in the forecourt of Accra City Hall (AMA Head Office), which is near the Octagon building.

Mayor Allotey said that recipients would be screened for HIV, blood pressure, hypertension, blood sugar level, diabetes, eye disorders, Hepatitis B, and malaria, among other diseases, following the distribution of more than 500 hot meals to head porters and the impoverished in the Tudu and Cocoa Marketing Board (CMB) areas of the Central Business District (CBD) in honor of the first National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving.

He clarified that the outreach is a component of the First Lady’s mission to provide vital health care services to women, youth, and other disadvantaged populations who frequently encounter obstacles in obtaining high-quality medical treatment.

“This is not the first time the First Lady has demonstrated remarkable dedication to ensuring that no one is left behind, particularly those in underserved communities,” the Mayor stated.

He mentioned that in order to educate and mobilize locals in advance of the event, the assembly’s Information Services Department (ISD) section was making public statements.

At least 800 people are anticipated to attend the event, according to Mayor Allotey, who also stated that the AMA would coordinate efforts with community leaders and other stakeholders to guarantee a seamless execution and optimal participation.
