The Directors of the US-incorporated National Cathedral of Ghana and Bible Museum Foundation, Inc., according to the North Tongu MP, have not submitted their yearly tax filings.

This, according to Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has continued ever since their official establishment on May 3, 2021.

He pointed out that while not-for-profit organizations that uphold accountability and openness and do not use donations for personal advantage would not have any trouble submitting their returns, those who engage in illegal activities, such as money laundering, are more likely to have filing issues.

The MP announced this on Monday, May 8, 2023, in a Facebook post that was a part of his most recent letter about the National Cathedral project.

Mr. Ablakwa has issued a warning that the country’s tax-exempt status could be removed if the National Cathedral of Ghana and Bible Museum Foundation, Inc. fail to submit their annual tax filings.

He exhorts the Foundation to see that the required paperwork is finished and submitted right away.

The $6 million “Consultant for the USA” Cary Lee Summers, who works out of a run-down warehouse instead of the Nehemiah Group as advertised, was retained, according to documents provided to Parliament, but the ranking member on the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Commons found it questionable.

Then there are the infamous three of governors: Dr. Paul Opoku-Mensah, Eric Okyere Darko, and President Vernon Darko. “How come all these actors are blatantly flouting the law by refusing to file their Form 990 with the IRS?” he questioned.
