Today, July 25, 2025, four deputy ministers-designate will be vetted by the Appointments Committee of Parliament.
Among the candidates are Jomoro MP Dorcas Affo-Toffey, who is nominated as Deputy Minister for Transport, and James Gyakye Quayson, MP for Assin North, who is nominated as Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
The other two are Grace Ayensu-Danquah, MP for Essikado-Ketan, who is nominated as Deputy Minister for Health, and Mohammed Adam Sukparu, MP for Sissala West, who is nominated as Deputy Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation.
In accordance with Articles 78(1) and 79(1) of the 1992 Constitution, President Mahama submitted the final group of nominations to Parliament on July 9, 2025.
The candidates will be questioned about their credentials, backgrounds, and ministry-specific goals during the screening process.
As part of the government’s plan to enhance governance and service delivery in important sectors, the results of the screening process will decide whether the nominees are permitted to take on their positions.
