By Executive Instrument and on the recommendation of the North East Regional Security Council, the Interior Minister has enforced a curfew that will run from 2:00 pm to 6:00 am in Nalerigu Township and the surrounding area of the North East Region, starting on Sunday, July 27, 2025, and lasting until further notice.
The government urges the local population, including the Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, and Youth, to employ non-violent methods to focus their energies toward maintaining peace and to display restraint when faced with obstacles.
In the meanwhile, it is strictly prohibited for anybody in the Nalerigu Township and the surrounding areas to carry firearms, ammo, or any other type of offensive weapon. anybody caught in possession of these items will be detained and face legal action.
