Former President John Mahama’s campaign team’s Savanna regional team, which was traveling in front of his convoy, had been in an accident.
Two other people and a journalist were hurt in the collision. At the hospital, they are receiving care.
In a statement, Joyce Bawa Mogtari, Mr. Mahama’s assistant and campaign spokesperson, said: “There was an accident involving a regional team that was traveling to the Yapei constituency, ahead of the JM campaign team convoy.”
She continued, stating that Mr. Mahama “stopped to assist the accident victims, who have been transported to the hospital for treatment.”
