The 97th cycle of the regular Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) payment has been monitored nationally by the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection (MoGCSP).

In order to guarantee the seamless and open distribution of monetary awards to qualified recipients, such as the elderly, people with severe impairments, and vulnerable and orphaned children, the monitoring was conducted in a few chosen localities throughout all areas.

Across the 16 areas, monitoring teams traveled to the chosen districts, where they watched the payment procedure, spoke with beneficiaries and the community, and evaluated the distribution’s overall effectiveness.

The teams also held quick awareness-raising seminars on important social protection topics like child welfare, saving, and using the LEAP grant responsibly during the exercise.

Recipients were urged to put their families’ children’s nutritional, educational, and health needs first.

A number of recipients thanked the government for the ongoing assistance, pointing out that the monetary awards enable them to give their families necessities like food and medication.

Over 344,000 extremely poor households statewide get bimonthly cash help through the LEAP Program, which continues to be a vital part of Ghana’s social safety system.

The Ministry’s dedication to enhancing service delivery, bolstering transparency, and making sure that no eligible individual is left behind is reaffirmed by the 97th cycle monitoring.
