While partners Li Wei Guo (1st Accused) and Shi Mei Zhi (2nd Accused) are accused of engaging in mining operations without a permit and making false statements to obtain resident permits.

For enabling non-Ghanaians to take part in an illegal mining activity, Nana Kwame Opoku alias Obolo is accused separately. The Ghanaian, the two Chinese nationals, and each have entered not guilty pleas.

The third accused, a Ghanaian, is out on bail for GHc500,000 with two sureties while the two Chinese are being held on remand at the Nsawam Prison.
