Kwame Baffoe, also referred to as Abronye, is the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and is anticipated to report to the National Investigation Bureau (NIB) headquarters.
On February 21, 2025, Abronye received an invitation to visit the NIB Kwawukudi headquarters in a letter signed by Mr. Kwaku Afari, Bono Regional Commander.
According to reports, Abronye helps the NIB with an ongoing investigation into allegations of corruption involving the President and his administration.
Analysts who believe the National Investigative Bureau is using the invitation as a threatening strategy have denounced it.
Oliver Barker-Vormawor, a youth activist, has denounced the letter’s tone, suggesting that the NIB appears to have problems with Abronye.
He took use of the occasion to caution the Mahama-led government to either go cautiously or risk destroying the social capital they have accumulated since assuming control of the nation’s governance.
