President John Dramani Mahama’s administration is now closer to having its entire ministerial team after Parliament confirmed six more of his candidates.
Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, and Emelia Arthur, Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, are among the nominees who were approved by the Appointments Committee and confirmed in two batches on January 23.
Additional appointments include Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare as Minister of Trade, Industry, and Agribusiness; Agnes Naa Momo Lartey as Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Protection; Ahmed Ibrahim as Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs; and George Opare Addo as Minister of Youth Development and Empowerment.
Second Deputy Speaker Andrew Asiamah Amoako presided over the approval process, which was characterized by heated discussions and a final agreement between the Majority and Minority caucuses.
