Attack on a Ghanaian Armed Forces Escort Convoy

Unknown elements ambushed a Ghana Armed Forces escort convoy near Binduri this morning, Monday, April 27, 2026, when it was guarding 140 civilians.

Three of the citizens being escorted were killed and one was injured as the convoy from Bawku to Bolga was repeatedly shot at.

Seven attackers were killed after the military successfully repelled the attack on the convoy. A G3 automatic rifle, two filled magazines with 20 rounds each, and 176 rounds of extra ammunition were found and recovered by the military from an escapee who had gone to a mosque.

Ten more suspects have been taken into custody and are helping with the investigation.

The Ghana Armed Forces would want to warn everyone not to interact with the military or any other security service while it is conducting its activities.

It offers its sincere sympathies to the deceased’s family and wishes the injured a quick recovery.
