The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a scheduled power outage in parts of the Ashanti Region as the company undertakes planned maintenance works to improve electricity supply and service delivery.

According to ECG, the maintenance exercise will take place on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Customers in the affected communities are expected to experience a temporary interruption in power supply during the exercise.

Areas Affected by ECG Maintenance

The planned power interruption will affect the following communities:

  • Kantenkyiren
  • Kyerensa
  • Bedase
  • Adwampong
  • Konkori
  • Kwanwoma
  • Aboabo
  • Asaago
  • Pakyi No. 1 and 2
  • Surrounding areas

ECG said the maintenance works are part of its efforts to improve electricity service delivery, power supply reliability and network performance in the Ashanti Region.

Residents, businesses and other electricity consumers in the affected communities are advised to prepare for the temporary outage and plan their activities accordingly.

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has apologised to customers for any inconvenience the planned maintenance exercise may cause and thanked the public for their cooperation and understanding.
