Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president and presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to serve as president for all Ghanaians, regardless of their political, religious, or ethnic affiliations.
Additionally, Dr. Bawumia pledges to preserve Ghana’s diversity.
He made these statements following a special thanksgiving and prayer session for the country on Tuesday, December 3, in Accra, when he also spoke with Imams and Zongo Chiefs, as well as National Chief Imam Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu.
As he runs for president to serve our beloved nation, he added the prayer session was also for a peaceful election and for God’s favor on December 7.
Along with sharing his political “journey of destiny, the achievements of the NPP, and our positive impact on the Zongo community through the Zongo Development Fund,” Dr. Bawumia also took use of the occasion to discuss “my vision and transformative policies I seek to implement as President, God willing.”
“I also reiterated my commitment to be President for all, regardless of religious and ethnic affiliations, to protect and strengthen the beautiful diversity of our country,” he wrote in a Facebook post following the event.
“I thank the National Chief Imam, the Imams, Zongo Chief and all those who attended, for the special prayers for our country, and for my success on Saturday, December 7, in shaa Allah.”
On December 7, Ghanaians will cast their ballots to choose a new president and members of parliament.
