A few power-related entities have begun to be visited by the Parliamentary Committee on Energy.

GRIDCO, the Energy Commission, and PURC were the first. It was discovered at GRIDCO that illicit mining operations are causing transmission tower damage, which may ultimately have an impact on the delivery of electricity.

Acting Executive Secretary Mrs Eunice Biritwum informed the Committee at the Energy Commission that the building they occupy is almost a zero-energy structure in order to achieve its objective.

Additionally, the Commission has trained and qualified more than 18,000 electrical wiring professionals to guarantee public safety.

The visit’s last destination was PURC, where they made an announcement about their intention to support the enactment of a Water Act.

Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, the chairman of the Energy Committee, gave the institutions his word that the Committee will be available to help them overcome their obstacles in order to fulfil their individual objectives.
