The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) has declared that it will reopen nominations for the next elections in Units and Electoral Areas where none were submitted.

According to the Commission, the reopening adheres to Regulation 12 of the District Level Elections Regulations, 2015 (C.I. 89).

Nomination forms are available for free at the EC’s District Offices or can be downloaded between Monday, November 3 and Thursday, November 13, 2025, according to a statement signed by Mr Samuel Tettey, Deputy Chairman, Affairs.

According to the statement, the candidate must deliver quadruplicate completed nomination forms “personally or by the Proposer or Seconder to the Returning Officer of the Electoral Area / Unit for which the Candidate seeks election, between the hours of 9:00 am and 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, from Monday, November 10 to Thursday, November 13, 2025.”

The EC further mandated that two (2) copies of a current bust-sized photo with a red backdrop be sent with the filled-out nomination forms.

The proposal and seconder’s signatures or marks must be witnessed on the nomination forms for the impacted Electoral Areas, and they must be endorsed by eighteen (18) additional residents and registered voters in the Electoral Area, according to the statement.

The proposer and seconder’s signatures or marks must be witnessed on the nomination forms for the affected units, and eight (8) more residents and registered voters must support them.

Regarding the elections, the EC further instructed that enquiries be forwarded to the appropriate Returning Officer at the Commission’s District Office in the impacted districts.
