Gospel musician Florence Obinim has reportedly filed a second lawsuit against her husband, Bishop Daniel Obinim, at the Accra High Court, seeking GH¢5 million in damages over remarks he allegedly made about her during a church service.

The suit, filed on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, is separate from Florence Obinim’s ongoing divorce proceedings before the Family Division of the High Court.

According to the statement of claim, the case stems from an incident in which Bishop Obinim allegedly read portions of Florence’s divorce petition to his congregation and made comments questioning her mental state and the people around her.

Florence argues that the alleged remarks were made publicly before a congregation and subsequently broadcast on television, streamed online and circulated across social media platforms.

She contends that the statements amounted to libel and slander, alleging that their continued circulation through recordings has harmed her reputation and her career as a gospel musician.

The GH¢5 million claim seeks compensation for the alleged damage to her public image and professional standing. The lawsuit adds another legal dimension to the couple’s ongoing marital dispute.

The allegations form part of Florence Obinim’s legal claims and have not, by themselves, established liability on the part of Bishop Daniel Obinim.
