The Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mahama Ayariga, has backed the distribution of vehicles to Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to strengthen local governance and improve public service delivery across Ghana.
The initiative is aimed at enhancing the operational capacity of local assemblies, enabling them to coordinate development projects more effectively and respond to the needs of communities.

The provision of vehicles is expected to support the daily operations of the assemblies, improve mobility for officials and facilitate the implementation and monitoring of development programmes at the local level.
The government has reaffirmed its commitment to equipping MMDAs with the necessary resources to improve administrative efficiency, strengthen decentralisation and promote development throughout the country.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to empower local authorities to deliver essential services and support sustainable community development in Ghana.
