The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has commended Focus Electronic Company Limited for its significant contribution to job creation, workers’ welfare and Ghana’s manufacturing industry.
The Minister made the remarks on Monday, August 10, 2026, during a working visit to the company, where she inspected its operations and interacted with management and employees.
Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare expressed satisfaction with the company’s working environment, particularly its efforts to provide a safe and comfortable workplace for its predominantly female workforce.
She praised Focus Electronic for maintaining a clean, well-ventilated and conducive factory environment. She also highlighted the provision of accommodation and lunch for workers, as well as the company’s decision to absorb electricity and water costs rather than passing them on to employees.
The Minister emphasized the importance of creating workplaces where women in Ghana can work safely and with dignity, including during pregnancy.
“I like it when I go to industry and I see that women are sitting down and working because then immediately it comes to my mind that you can be pregnant and still work here,” she said.
Focus Electronic Employs More Than 500 Workers
The Trade Minister also praised Focus Electronic Company Limited for employing more than 500 people, describing the company as an important contributor to employment creation and economic development in Ghana.
She encouraged management to consider expanding its operations to create more jobs and take advantage of growing market opportunities.
According to the Minister, the company has established a strong presence in the market, making expansion an important opportunity for business growth and increased employment.
She further urged the company to maintain high production standards and continue manufacturing quality Made-in-Ghana products that can compete effectively in both local and international markets.
Government Support for Local Industries
Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare also highlighted the importance of the Minister’s Clinic 2026, a government initiative designed to provide businesses and industries with a platform to present operational challenges directly to the Ministry.
She explained that concerns raised by businesses through the initiative allow the Ministry to bring relevant government agencies and stakeholders together to find practical solutions.
One of the issues addressed during the visit was an electricity supply challenge affecting Focus Electronic Company Limited.
The Minister commended the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) for responding promptly after the Ministry requested its intervention.
According to her, ECG engaged directly with the company and worked to resolve the electricity supply problem.
“I want to thank ECG for the prompt response to our call for them to be here. From what I have gathered in respect of electricity, they are working closely with the factory and that is the way to go,” she said.
The Minister said the quick resolution of the electricity challenge demonstrates the importance of government-private sector collaboration in addressing problems that affect businesses and local manufacturing companies.

Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare commended the owner and management of Focus Electronic Company Limited and encouraged them to make business expansion their next priority.
She assured the company of the Ministry’s continued support as it contributes to job creation, industrial growth and Ghana’s manufacturing development.
The Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to working with relevant stakeholders to identify and address challenges facing local industries while creating an enabling environment for sustainable investment and growth.
She emphasized that a strong manufacturing sector remains important to Ghana’s economic transformation, employment generation and promotion of locally manufactured goods.
Focus Electronic Pledges Continued Support for Ghana’s Industry
The Managing Director of Focus Electronic Technology Company Limited, Andy, expressed appreciation for the Minister’s visit and said management was pleased to have the opportunity to showcase the company’s operations.
“We are so happy and honoured to receive our Hon. Minister. We are very happy that we can meet her in our factory and see what we are doing,” he said.
He thanked the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry and other stakeholders for their continued support.
He also assured the government that Focus Electronic would continue contributing to Ghana’s industrial development, employment creation and local manufacturing sector.
