The Madina Member of Parliament, Francis Xavier Sosu, is accused by the Coalition of Muslim Organizations, Ghana (COMOG) of lacking the moral authority to support two Muslim holidays on Eid-l Fitr and Eid-l Adha.

The group believes this to be the case because the legislator is also seen to be supporting the LGBTQI+ community and its practices in Ghana, which go against to both Islamic principles and Ghanaian norms.

In a statement, COMOG said that in as “Much as we welcome the idea of granting additional holidays to Muslims to facilitate the celebration of these two important Muslim rites and his right to do so, we take strong exception to the moral authority of Lawyer Sosu as the sponsor of “the Bill.”
