H.E. Huseyin Gungor, the Turkish Ambassador to Ghana, was warmly received by Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, during a courtesy call to the Ministry.
In addition to congratulating the Minister on her appointment, the Ambassador’s visit aimed to investigate ways to improve Ghana-Ghana bilateral relations, especially through closer cooperation with the ministry.
Along with fostering goodwill, the engagement sought to strengthen collaboration around common development objectives.
Ambassador Gungor underlined the value of teamwork in tackling gender-related concerns and growing social safety nets for the weak and impoverished.

He stated that Turkey would like to fund programs that empower and safeguard women, girls, and other underprivileged groups.
The necessity of using innovation, science, and technology as vital instruments to promote gender equality and sustainable development was also brought up in the discussions.
Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey reiterated the ministry’s dedication to forming solid alliances that support the protection, rights, and general welfare of everyone, especially the weaker members of society.
She added that the administration continues to place a high premium on matters pertaining to gender.
“The government is committed to bettering the lives of the people of Ghana by working tirelessly with all stakeholders to ensure equal rights, enhance social protection, and reduce vulnerability to its barest minimum,” she said.
The visit was a significant step toward strengthening diplomatic ties and opening up new avenues for collaboration between Ghana and Turkey in areas vital to the country’s and society’s progress.
Dr. Afisah Zakariah, the ministry’s Chief Director, was also in attendance at the meeting.
