Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the general secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is unfit to serve as the national chairman and head of the party, according to Samuel Koku Anyidoho, the chief executive of the Atta-Mills Institute.

Anyidoho’s tweet on Monday said, “I observed Asiedu Nketiah jubilate after NDC led by John Mahama lost in 2016.” That tweet was followed by Anyidoho’s response. I will never forget the agony I felt when I witnessed my general secretary celebrating the NDC’s defeat under John Mahama’s leadership.

Anyidoho claimed that the NDC general secretary is morally ineligible for the position of party leader.

In an exclusive interview with Asaase News, Anyidoho, the former deputy general secretary of the NDC, said, “I used to be his deputy for four years and I don’t think he is fit to become chairman and leader of the NDC.”

“John Mahama is an individual, and the NDC is bigger than John Mahama, so this isn’t really about him.

Since we are now in opposition under Article 25 of the NDC constitution, whomever is chairman also serves as leader till we elect a flagbearer, he said, “All I am saying is that Asiedu Nketiah does not have what it takes to be chairman and leader.”

Anyidoho has in the past charged Nketiah with planning the party’s demise in 2016.

Anyidoho claimed in a series of tweets on October 3, 2022 that the 65-year-old seasoned politician known as General Mosquito ensured the NDC lost the Tain constituency.

The late Dr. Kwabena Adjei, Kofi Portuphy, and Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, among others, were all NDC Chairmanes with whom he had worked, according to his tweets, and Nketiah undercut them all.

Threatening that “the day Asiedu Nketia becomes Chairman of the NDC, would be the funeral day of the party,” Anyidoho further stated that he will expose Asiedu Nketia.

Where is the land President Atta-Mills purchased for the development of the NDC school, he further inquired of Asiedu Nketia.
