Theft of poultry was discovered in Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region by a 28-year-old guy known as Great Karim.
On November 28, 2022, early on Monday, he was taken into custody by some locals.
The man was discovered in one of the bird cages, where the residents said he had already packed more than 50 birds from other cages he had broken into.
An eyewitness described the incident to Nana Tawiah, Class FM’s Central regional correspondent, saying he observed the man select the birds out of the new cage one by one but was stopped when attempting to put them into the sack.
The locals sounded an alarm, alerting other occupants of the neighborhood to the situation.
He was recognized as a well-known bird thief who has also been apprehended robbing stores of baby wipes and cell phones in the past.
The man was flogged by the locals after they chained him to a nearby power pole.
He was going to be set on fire.
However, the man was still bound to the power pole when someone called the police to report the occurrence.
He was rescued by the cops from the irate neighbors.
The Mankessim Divisional Police Command has already received him.
