Germany will play an international friendly against Ghana’s Black Stars in Stuttgart on Monday, March 30, 2026.

The friendly matches are part of both countries’ preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, Canada, and the United States of America. Ghana’s coach is Hamburg-born Otto Addo, a former Bundesliga professional and 15-time Ghana international who won the German title with Borussia Dortmund in 2002.

Germany’s head coach, Julian Nagelsmann, said, “We are very much looking forward to the fight with Otto’s team. Their outstanding transition play can provide us a preview of what to expect in the World Cup group stage match against Ivory Coast.

Otto Addo, the coach of the Black Stars, is also anticipating the game. “This is an amazing opportunity for us to test ourselves against one of the best teams in the world. Germany are a good side, and we can’t wait to face them in Stuttgart.”

Ghana will face England, Croatia, and Panama in Group L of the 2026 World Cup after winning their group.

Germany has already met the four-time African champions three times. Germany prevailed 6-1 in their first friendly in Bochum in 1993.

Two further meetings took place during World Cups: Germany won 1-0 in the group stage in South Africa in 2010, and their second group-stage clash in Brazil in 2014 resulted in a 2-2 tie.

The game is set to begin on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 8:45 p.m.
