Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the Interior Minister, joined Vice President H.E. Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, Minister of Defense Dr. Omane Boamah, and other government officials at the Nationalism Park in Accra to mark the 77th anniversary of the Christiansborg Crossroads Shooting incident on February 28.

Sergeant Adjetey, Corporal Attipoe, and Private Odartey Lamptey were killed when a group of former soldiers marched to the Christiansborg Castle to deliver a petition to the colonial authorities. This event was a turning point in Ghana’s fight for independence.

H.E. Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the vice president, laid a wreath on behalf of the Ghanaian government and people at the ceremony, which also featured a flag-raising ceremony in remembrance of the lost heroes.

Every year, the event is held to honour the fallen heroes’ sacrifices.
