Ghana Post’s management and employees have received appreciation from Hon. Samuel Nartey George, Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, for their remarkable performance, teamwork, and newfound vigour.

At a Staff Durbar held at the company’s headquarters, the Minister spoke to management, employees, and union representatives. He praised Ghana Post’s recent transformation, pointing out that the organization’s success is a result of strong leadership and unity.

“It is clear to me that in Ghana Post, things are not just going well, they are going very well,” he said.

A closer bond between management and the workers’ union, which Hon. George referred to as “the recipe for productivity and excellence,” was credited with the company’s success.

Ghana Post should start retooling its operations with an emphasis on sustainability and environmental responsibility, the Minister advised.

In order to help lower carbon emissions, he urged management to think about implementing electric bikes and cars for last-mile delivery.

“We must begin to think green,” he stated.

Additionally, Hon. George pushed Ghana Post to investigate new foreign delivery routes and broaden its activities outside the local market.

Citing instances of Ghanaian businesspeople who have successfully exported domestic goods overseas, he claimed that the postal service would be able to generate new revenue streams through comparable innovation.

He suggested, “We need to begin exploring new delivery routes, Japan, the UK, and elsewhere. That’s how Ghana Post can diversify and build resilience.”

By congratulating Ghana Post on its recent election to the Universal Postal Union’s (UPU) Council of Administration, the Minister wrapped up his remarks. This significant accomplishment places Ghana Post among the top postal organisations in the world.

According to Hon. George, “you are flying the red, gold, and green high.”

Along with bank cards, driver’s licenses, and other safe documents, Ghana Post’s managing director, Ms. Rita Sraha, also declared that the company has distributed more than 72,000 new chip-embedded passports across the country.

Additionally, the business is collaborating with e-commerce sites to increase package delivery and income.

With honours like the 2025 Quality Management Silver Award and the 2024 Customer Care Award (ranked second in Africa and sixth worldwide), Ghana Post has also attained international prominence.

“Our progress shows what teamwork and discipline can achieve,” the MD stated. “Together, we will continue building a Ghana Post that stands tall across Africa and beyond.”
