At the Jubilee House, a delegation from Huawei Ghana, headed by the company’s Country Director, paid a courtesy call to President H.E. John Dramani Mahama.
Minister of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations Hon. Sam Nartey George led the delegation.
Huawei’s long-term commitment to Ghana’s digital transformation plan was demonstrated during the visit, as the business promised to strengthen its partnership with the government in the fields of cloud computing, connectivity, and the development of digital skills in the future.
Other topics discussed included digital sovereignty, the deployment of vital ICT infrastructure to support national development, and the growth of rural telephone networks.

President Mahama expressed gratitude to Huawei for its ongoing collaboration with Ghana and restated his administration’s resolve to use technology to advance economic growth, fortify national security, and open up inclusive opportunities.
As for the Ministry of Communications Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Sam Nartey George stressed the significance of coordinating private sector innovation with the government’s policy guideline.
He pointed out that Huawei’s knowledge and investments in ICT infrastructure continue to be essential to Ghana’s efforts to accelerate its digital transformation.

Reiterating the company’s goal to establish Ghana as a digital hub in Africa with a strong emphasis on AI cloud computing, connectivity, innovation, and youth skills training, the Huawei Country Director thanked the President and the Minister for their support.
The courtesy call served as a reminder of the government’s dedication to strengthening alliances that promote Ghana’s digital transformation and establish the country as a pioneer in Africa’s technologically advanced future.
