The Head of Pfizer’s Accord, Mr. Ali Besri, and his team visited with Ghana’s Health Minister, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, to deepen cooperation in promoting cheap and equitable healthcare.

Through Pfizer’s Accord, healthcare systems in low- and middle-income nations will be supported by long-term access to high-quality treatments, including cutting-edge therapies and necessary medications.

In light of Ghana’s ongoing healthcare reforms and the recent introduction of the historic Mahama Cares Program, the meeting’s main objective was to increase cooperation between the Ministry and Pfizer.

Hon. Akandoh emphasized the value of solid public-private partnerships in promoting systemic change during his remarks at the meeting.

He disclosed that Pfizer has pledged to support our public health system by providing its entire portfolio of patented and off-patent medications and vaccines, including cutting-edge treatments for cancer, heart disease, inflammatory disorders, and more, on a non-profit basis through the Accord.

The collaboration between the Accord and the Mahama Cares Program, according to Hon. Akandoh, offers fresh chances to provide patients in Ghana with long-lasting effects.

“We look forward to deepening our collaboration with Pfizer to ensure no Ghanaian is left behind in accessing the care they need,” he said.
