The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) successfully responded to a vehicle fire at La Town Park (McDan) on Saturday, August 1, 2026, preventing the blaze from spreading to nearby buildings and property.
According to the GNFS, firefighters from the Trade Fair Fire Station received an emergency distress call at 8:31 a.m. and were immediately dispatched to the scene. The fire crew arrived by 8:39 a.m. and quickly began firefighting operations to contain the incident.
Thanks to their rapid response and professional firefighting tactics, the flames were brought under control within 10 minutes, successfully preventing further damage to surrounding structures and ensuring public safety.

The affected vehicle, identified as a Chevrolet Cruze, was completely destroyed by the fire. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported during the incident.
Following the emergency response, the Ghana National Fire Service advised motorists to carry out regular vehicle maintenance and safety inspections to reduce the risk of vehicle fires. Drivers were also encouraged to keep a functional fire extinguisher in their vehicles to help manage unexpected fire emergencies before firefighters arrive.
The incident highlights the importance of road safety, vehicle maintenance, and prompt emergency response in protecting lives and property from fire-related disasters.
