A petrol tanker with registration number GT 5867-21 was involved in a traffic accident at Adidome Dorfor, according to a distress call received by the Adidome Fire Station.
At 0019 hours, firefighters from the Adidome Fire Station, under the command of ASTN/O Gabienu Perry, were swiftly sent and reached the scene at 0030 hours.
When they arrived, it was discovered that the gasoline-carrying tanker had drifted out of its lane and turned onto its side.
The crew quickly responded, using foam concentrate to cool the tanker and prevent escalation, avoiding a dangerous explosion. At 0100 hours, the situation was successfully brought under control.
The tanker was then collected and towed away by the GNFS recovery vehicle at 1100 hours, after which the road was cleared and made safe for traffic.
