The new Head of Ghana’s Civil Service, Dr. Evans Aggrey-Darkoh on Friday, November 17th, 2023, paid a working visit to the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture to formally introduce himself and interact with management and staff of the Ministry. Dr Aggrey-Darkoh succeeds Nana Agyekum Dwamena who recently retired from the service.

Addressing the Management and Staff of the Ministry, Dr Aggrey-Darkoh urged the staff of the Ministry to be advocates of rebranding, ensuring that their environment is clean to attract businesses as well as generate a positive attitude toward service delivery.

He added that the Civil Service Act which was passed in 1993 is being reviewed to reflect current trends in the professional classes within the service at the cabinet level.

Dr Evans Aggrey-Darkoh assured management and staff that a counselling unit would be created within the service to provide counselling services to staff who may need it.

He also encouraged staff to work hard and to make themselves available for capacity-building programs to equip them in their service delivery.

The Chief Director, Mr John Yao Agbeko thanked him for the visit and assured him that the staff of the Ministry would deliver to grow the Tourism, Arts and Culture industry of the country.

Dr. Evans Aggrey-Darkoh was accompanied by Madam Eunice Osae, the Chief Director, and some selected staff of the Office of the Head of Civil Service (OHCS).
