John Boadu Elected NPP National Chairman as Party Announces New National Executives

Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has been elected National Chairman of the party following the NPP National Delegates Conference held in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

John Boadu emerged victorious in a competitive NPP National Chairman election, defeating former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko and former National Chairman Paul Afoko.

The NPP delegates conference took place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, where more than 7,000 delegates gathered to elect new national executives as the party begins preparations for the 2028 general election.

John Boadu secured 2,888 votes to win the chairmanship position. Boakye Agyarko followed with 2,408 votes, while Paul Afoko polled 790 votes. Sammy Crabbe, who had withdrawn from the contest and endorsed John Boadu, received 41 votes.

Justin Kodua Wins NPP General Secretary Position

Justin Frimpong Kodua retained a key position within the party after winning the NPP General Secretary election with 4,486 votes.

He defeated Sylvester Tetteh, who obtained 1,340 votes, while Eugene Boakye Antwi and Dr Charles Dwamena received 162 and 129 votes respectively.

Titus Glover Elected NPP National Organiser

Former Greater Accra Regional Minister Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover won the NPP National Organiser position after polling 2,964 votes.

He was followed by Ali Maiga Halidu, who secured 2,231 votes. Kwame Prempeh obtained 445 votes, while the remaining candidates recorded lower figures.

Hawa Koomson Wins National Women’s Organiser

Former Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister Mavis Hawa Koomson was elected NPP National Women’s Organiser with 783 votes.

She defeated Hajia Safia Mohammed, who polled 429 votes.

Abanga Fuseini Yakubu Becomes National Youth Organiser

Abanga Fuseini Yakubu emerged as the new NPP National Youth Organiser after securing 1,550 votes.

Clement Opoku Gyamfi placed second with 631 votes, while Michael Osei Boateng, Chris Lloyd Nii Kwei Asamoah, Vera Oye Bram-Larbi and Alfred Kumi Ababio recorded 78, 46, 44 and 25 votes respectively.

Alfred Kojo Thompson Elected National Treasurer

Alfred Kojo Thompson won the NPP National Treasurer position with 2,243 votes.

He was followed by Tahiru Issahaku Moomin with 1,605 votes, Collins Nuntwiri Nuamah with 1,582 votes and Hajia Ruka Ahmed with 687 votes.

Mohammed Ali Suraj Wins NPP Nasara Organiser Position

Mohammed Ali Suraj was elected NPP National Nasara Organiser after polling 372 votes.

Alhaji Salim Bamba received 311 votes, while Awal Mohammed obtained 106 votes.

NPP Vice-Chairmanship Election Results

The three candidates who secured the highest votes in the NPP Vice-Chairmanship election were Kojo Fosu Boadu, Henry Nana Boakye and Nana Akomea.

Kojo Fosu Boadu topped the contest with 3,116 votes, followed by Henry Nana Boakye with 3,061 votes and Nana Akomea with 2,937 votes.

The three successful candidates will serve as the First, Second and Third Vice-Chairpersons of the NPP.
