Kennedy Agyapong, a candidate for president of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to create jobs in the nation.
If he is given the authority to lead Ghana, he claims that job creation will characterise his administration.
During his campaign meetings with delegates in the Greater Accra Region’s Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, Mr. Agyapong stated that practical leadership based on enterprise and results is necessary to address Ghana’s economic problems, especially youth unemployment.
“My presidency will be about jobs. That is my priority,” he told delegates, drawing applause from party faithful.
Mr. Agyapong emphasised that his dedication to job creation is not theoretical, pointing out that he has continuously produced job possibilities for Ghanaians through his private business endeavours even before pursuing political office.
“Even in my private capacity, I have employed thousands of Ghanaians. I didn’t wait to become President before creating jobs, so if I am given the opportunity to lead this country, job creation will not be a promise, it will be a continuation of what I already do.” he declared.
He maintained that rather than relying only on policy declarations, Ghana needed a leader with actual business expertise, someone who knows how employment are produced, maintained, and developed.
Mr. Agyapong states that boosting indigenous industries, assisting entrepreneurs, and fostering a climate that allows enterprises to flourish and take in the nation’s expanding labour force are at the heart of his vision for Ghana’s future.
“Ghanaians are hardworking. What they need is opportunity. Give me the power, and I will give you jobs,” he added.
Assuring delegates that his leadership philosophy is based on responsibility and quantifiable results, the presidential candidate reaffirmed that his campaign will continue to be centred on economic empowerment, productivity, and employment.
In order to obtain the support of party delegates prior to the impending primaries, Mr. Agyapong conducts his campaign tour in various constituencies.
