The late Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka’s will was read at the Accra High Court, confirming Israel Kwadwo Safo Akofena as the successor to the Kantanka Empire.

The confirmation, which clarified the leadership succession of the Kristo Asafo Mission and the Kantanka Empire, was made on Monday, July 6, following the official reading of the late founder’s will.

Richard Brown, also known as Osebo the Zaraman, a member of the Kristo Asafo Mission, told reporters during the court proceedings that he would honour the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s desires as stated in the will and promised to support Akofena and the family.

“If our father decided to leave all his properties to Akofena, I have no reason to object. During my previous press conference, I said he always valued peace. If his will clearly states that everything belongs to Akofena, then I have no choice but to respect that decision,” he said..

The court’s confirmation comes after Sarah Adwoa Safo, a former member of parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, stated recently that her late father left a legitimate will to control how his inheritance was administered.

She claimed that the public discourse surrounding the issue had given the misleading impression that ownership and inheritance of the church’s assets were at the heart of the conflict within the Kristo Asafo Mission.

She maintained that rather than a dispute over Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s riches or authority over the mission’s assets, the true concern has always been carrying out the last instructions in his will.

However, disagreements within the family and the mission have tainted the succession process, leading to a shooting incident at Akofena’s home.

Sarah Adwoa Safo’s family has stated that they intend to transport her overseas for more medical care after the event left her in critical condition.
