President John Dramani Mahama is in London for a high-level visit that includes a breakfast meeting with British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and a royal audience with King Charles III.

He was greeted at the airport by Lord Katz MBE of the Royal Household, H.E. Gordon Wetherell, the Secretary of State’s Special Representative for FCDO, and H.E. Sabah Zita Benson, Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK and Ireland.

Building on this welcome, the visit will strengthen Ghana’s long-standing bilateral ties with the UK, establish Ghana as a top investment destination, and actively interact with Ghanaians living abroad.

President Mahama is scheduled to attend the Ghana High Commission’s diaspora town hall meeting in London tonight.

He will start the Ghana-UK Investment Summit at Raffles on Monday morning. The investment conference, which is at the heart of the trip, is intended to draw in foreign direct investment and promote collaborations between British businessmen and Ghanaian business owners.

As a guest at the London Stock Exchange, he will also strike the bell to officially begin trading, showcasing Ghana’s expanding influence in international financial markets.

President Mahama will speak at Chatham House and give the keynote talk at the 12th Africa Debate in London’s Guildhall.

On June 3, the president’s stay in London would come to a conclusion.
