Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, led a Ministry team to the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, to obtain the Ministry’s Medium-Term Development Plan (2026–2029) Certificate of Approval.

The Ministry received the certification as one of the first seven Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

The accreditation attests to the Ministry’s Medium-Term Plan’s adherence to international obligations, the Medium-Term National Development Policy Framework, and legal criteria.

Under the Resetting Ghana strategy theme, which emphasizes job creation, accountability, shared prosperity, and sustainable progress, the certified plans are a component of the national endeavor to further Ghana’s medium-term development strategy.

These plans are organized according to five fundamental development dimensions: international relations, governance and institutional development, infrastructure and spatial planning, social development, and economic growth.

The Minister, who is also a commissioner of the NDPC, thanked the Commission in a brief statement for its advice and assistance during the planning phase.

She underlined that the certification was a call to action rather than just a formality, highlighting the Ministry’s determination to carry out the plan in its entirety in order to meet the needs and goals of Ghanaians, especially women, children, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.

In the national development agenda, she reiterated the Ministry’s dedication to making sure that no one is left behind.

Dr. Nii Moi Thompson, the chairman of the National Development Planning Commission, stated that the certification marks the start of a new phase of implementation rather than its conclusion.

Additionally, the Commission reminded MDAs that every cabinet entity must base its budget preparation on an approved medium-term development plan in accordance with Section 10(b) of the Public Financial Management Act.
