MTN Ghana has announced a strong financial performance for the first half of 2026, recording a profit before tax of GH¢7.4 billion, reflecting continued growth in Ghana’s telecommunications sector.
According to the company’s half-year financial results released to investors on July 31, 2026, the profit before tax increased by 44.5% compared to the GH¢5.1 billion reported during the same period in 2025.
The leading telecom operator also recorded impressive growth in service revenue, which climbed to GH¢14.9 billion in the first six months of 2026, up from GH¢11.3 billion in the corresponding period last year. This represents a 32.3% year-on-year increase, driven by continued demand for mobile network services, mobile money (MoMo), data services, digital connectivity, and voice services.
The strong financial results underscore MTN Ghana’s sustained growth strategy and its expanding role in Ghana’s digital economy, supported by increased customer usage across its telecommunications and financial technology platforms.
Following the positive performance, the Board of Scancom PLC, operators of MTN Ghana, approved a gross interim dividend of GH¢0.03 per share for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026, providing returns to shareholders based on the company’s improved earnings.
The latest financial results reinforce MTN Ghana’s position as one of the country’s leading telecommunications companies, highlighting strong revenue growth, increased profitability, and continued value creation for investors and customers alike.
