The wife of the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Samira Bawumia, has called on Ghanaians to back her husband, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in his presidential campaign in the general elections scheduled for December 7.
Speaking on Monday, November 18, 2024, in Accra at a book launch organized by her Samira Bawumia Literacy Prize initiative, Mrs. Bawumia emphasized Dr. Bawumia’s honesty, intelligence, and skillful problem-solving abilities as essential qualities required to address Ghana’s present issues and realize the dreams of the country’s youth.
“He has solutions to our problems. Dr. Bawumia is a very intelligent man. He is an honest man. He works very hard and applies himself, and this is a man bursting with ideas and doesn’t always do the same things and expects different results,” Mrs. Bawumia stated.
“We need somebody who will leapfrog Ghana’s development. We need somebody who can look beyond where we are at and say, ‘Look, we can do better and we can do it in a faster way to get to where we are going,’” she said.
“Dr. Bawumia is a leader who confronts challenges with innovative ideas and a deep sense of responsibility,” she added, reinforcing her call for Ghanaians to back his vision for a more prosperous and efficient Ghana.” she added,
She praised her husband for his innovative leadership style, highlighting his ability to “think outside the box” and open doors for rapid national advancement.
Mrs. Bawumia also emphasized the revolutionary effects of Dr. Bawumia’s digitalization strategy, which she said was crucial in lowering corruption and creating a strong basis for long-term economic expansion.
