Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has officially announced the start of the Second Meeting of the Second Session of Ghana’s Ninth Parliament under the Fourth Republic.

The announcement marks the return of Members of Parliament to their legislative duties following the previous break.

The Speaker’s Office in Accra issued a formal notification on Monday, May 4, 2026, stating that Parliament will return on Thursday, May 21, 2026.

The session will begin punctually at 10:00 a.m. at Parliament House, where parliamentarians will resume official business.

The reconvening directive was issued in accordance with Order 58 of Parliament’s Standing Orders, which oversees session scheduling and notification.
