A GHS20,000 reward has been imposed by the Ghana Police Service (GPS) on Obuasi residents who were featured in a widely shared video threatening violence during the 2024 national elections.
The George Akuffo Dampare-led GPS made this announcement in a statement on Sunday, November 24, 2024.
“The Ghana Police Service is still on a manhunt for the individuals from Obuasi who were declared wanted on 15th November 2024, for threatening violence during the upcoming 2024 General Elections,” the statement began.
“The suspects, including Fuseini Yahuza, Bernard Ahedor, Simon, Basit, Musa Yakubu alias Agya Musah, and their accomplices, have been on the run since the incident and the Police have been pursuing them,”

“The Police are, therefore, appealing to the public to support the ongoing operation in search of the suspects by providing information that could lead to their arrest.” Police statement said.
“A reward of Twenty Thousand Cedis (GHS20,000.00) is being offered for any person who provides credible information leading to the arrest of the suspects. The statement went on,
“Anyone with credible information may contact the Police through a dedicated phone number 0547927272.”
“We urge the general public to remain calm since the Police are committed to ensuring that we live in peaceful, secure and orderly communities,” it concluded.
Ghana’s elections are scheduled for Saturday, December 7. The Ghana Police Service has promised that the election will be extremely peaceful and that they are prepared to foil any attempts to cause instability in the nation.
