President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his steadfast dedication to enhancing the well-being and career advancement of educators nationwide.
The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) leadership made this promise on Wednesday during a courtesy call.
The meeting was held in Accra and covered topics that are important to the teaching profession, such as opportunities for career advancement, compensation, and working conditions.
The engagement, which acknowledged the teachers’ vital contributions to Ghana’s educational and national growth, was deemed insightful by President Mahama.
He praised GNAT for its ongoing commitment to member welfare and the development of the teaching profession.

“I expressed my sincere gratitude to the GNAT leadership for their relentless efforts in shaping the future of our nation,” he said.
“Our teachers are the bedrock of Ghana’s education system and essential partners in nation-building.”
He emphasized that teachers must be at the forefront of any government’s development plan if it is serious about advancing the country.
He asserts that it is not only a campaign promise but also a national necessity to guarantee that educators receive fair compensation, work in supportive workplaces, and have access to ongoing professional development.
President Mahama promised the GNAT leadership that his administration would prioritize the concerns of teachers and make a concerted effort to improve the teaching profession.
The GNAT leadership praised the interaction and reaffirmed their dedication to working with interested parties to advance high-quality education in Ghana.
They also emphasized important areas that need immediate attention, such as accommodations for teachers, instructional logistics, and policy changes to improve retention and motivation.
