A video concerning the PTC Interchange that Skyy Power 93.5fm shared on social media has caught the attention of the Ministry of Roads and Highways.
According to the video, the government’s debt to the corporation is the reason the contractor is pulling out of the project.
The Ministry wants to alert the public to the fact that the PTC Interchange Project details in the film are inaccurate and distorted.
In any case, the Ministry would like to address the concerns brought up in the video and share the following information regarding the PTC Interchange.
1. The PTC Interchange Project forms part of the Sinohydro Master Project Support Agreement between the Government of Ghana and the People’s Republic of China.
The project started in December 2020 and was expected to be completed in June 2023.
2. The Contractor suspended works in December 2022 due to the Government of Ghana’s Debt Restructuring Programme. At the time of the suspension in December 2022, the physical progress of the project was 80 per cent.
