Effective December 1, 2023, the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has announced a little increase in water charges of 0.34% and a drop in power pricing of 1.52%.

While non-residential rates went from GHS/m³ 14.13 to 14.19, residential water tariffs increased from GHS/m³ 4.72 to 4.74.

The tariff for achet water producers will increase from GHS/m³ 22.26 to 22.34, while the price for industrial users will shift from GHS/m³ 25.29 to 25.38.

In the meantime, power rates for residential lifeline users will drop from GHS/m³ 0.64 to GHS/m³ 0.63.

In making its judgment, the PURC took inflation, exchange rates, raw water treatment costs, and electricity prices into account.
