Water service to some areas of Accra may be interrupted, according to the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL).

This is because the Tema Booster Station will be shut down for 48 hours starting on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, and ending on Friday, December 9, 2022, as a result of planned maintenance.

The GWCL said that its engineers would be installing new machinery, including a heavy-duty pump at the Tema Booster Station.

The GWCL claims that the new pumps will increase the amount of water distributed throughout the area.

Tema, Industrial Area, Baatsonaa, Coca-Cola, Kasapreko, Lashibi, Klagoon, Sakumono, Ashaiman, Adjei-Kojo, Borteyeman, and Santoe are among the places that are anticipated to be impacted.

Trassaco, Afresco Estate, Manet Court, Regimanuel Estates, O’Reily Senior High School, Airport Hills, Martey Tsuru, and neighboring neighborhoods are among the others.

In order to prepare for any eventuality, according to GWCL management, it has rented water tankers to supply water to critical service providers including hospitals and schools.

Additionally, while the water is now flowing, consumers in the impacted areas have been urged to preserve some water.

After the mission is completed, it is anticipated that the water supply would start up again right away.
