In preparation for today’s international friendly against the Lone Stars of Liberia, the Black Stars completed their final practice at Accra Sports Stadium yesterday, Monday.
Coach Chris Hughton, who qualified Ghana for the 34th Africa Cup of Nations in January of next year, oversaw the training of all 25 players in camp.
Ghana will utilize the match as practice for its international friendlies against Mexico and the United States of America, which will take place next month, and for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifications, which will begin in November.
Liberia finished third in a Group that included two other African superpowers, South Africa and Morocco, but was unable to advance to the next Africa Cup of Nations competition.
Chris Hughton, the coach, is anticipated to give several players who didn’t play against Central African Republic on Thursday opportunities.
The last time Ghana played in the Accra Sports stadium was on March 28, 2021, when the Black Stars defeated Sao-Tome and Principe 3-1 to secure their ninth consecutive trip to the Africa Cup of Nations in fifteen years.
The game will begin at 4:00 PM.
