Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the country’s interior minister, has urged for stability and peace, arguing that progress is impossible without it.

Hon. Muntaka stated that since peace and stability are the cornerstones of any nation’s progress, they should be treasured and safeguarded while on a working visit to the National Peace Council in Accra.

The Minister expressed gratitude to the National Peace Council and emphasized its vital role in advancing Ghana’s peace, stability, and unity as a nation.

He emphasized the Council’s efforts to promote inter-party discussion, mediate disputes, and encourage community involvement as ways to advance peace and nation-building.

“The National Peace Council played a pivotal role in promoting peace and stability during the 2024 general elections, working closely with stakeholders to prevent conflicts and promote peaceful elections,” he added.

The National Peace Council’s relationships with other stakeholders, such as political parties, civil society organizations, and traditional leaders, must be continuously strengthened, Hon. Muntaka emphasized.

Additionally, the Hon. Minister committed to working to mobilize resources to support the operations and programs of the Council.

The National Peace Council’s commitment to advancing peace and stability in Ghana is greatly appreciated, Hon. Muntaka said, adding that their work is evidence of the effectiveness of peace and reconciliation in fostering national development.

Under the direction of Executive Secretary Dr. George Amoh, the National Peace Council thanked the Minister and promised to assist him no matter what in order to accomplish the Council’s objective.
