The Ministry of Education has released the names of 60 private schools that the government has expanded the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy to cover.
This is the first time that students in private schools will benefit from the policy, which has only applied to public schools since the Akufo-Addo administration introduced it in 2017.
The inclusion of private institutions, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Education on Monday, is intended to increase access to high-quality education for all students, whether they attend public or private schools, and to reduce traffic in public senior high schools.
Therefore, it has been recommended that parents and guardians check the Ghana Education Service (GES), the Ministry of Education, or the GNACOPS platforms to confirm the list of authorized private schools.
