The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) closed Thursday’s session on a bullish note, with the market hitting a new record capitalisation of GH¢160.74 billion on the back of sustained investor interest.
The benchmark GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) advanced by 217.60 points to close at 8,046.69 points, pushing its year-to-date (YTD) return to 64.60 per cent.
The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) also climbed to 3,738.36 points, representing a 57.02 per cent return since the start of the year.
A total of 416,360 shares exchanged hands, representing a 44.18 per cent decline in volume compared to the previous session.
The trades were valued at GH¢1,505,003.45.
