On the recommendation of the National Security Council and through Executive Instrument, Interior Minister Muntaka Mubarak extended the curfew schedule for Binduri Township and the surrounding area in the Upper East Region.

With effect from yesterday, Monday, September 29, 2025, the curfew’s hours are 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

In a statement, he called on youth, opinion leaders, chiefs, elders, and local residents to employ non-violent measures to channel their energies towards maintaining peace in the region and to display restraint when faced with obstacles.

Men and women wearing smocks, motorbike movement, and the carrying of firearms, ammunition, or any other offensive weaponry are all strictly prohibited in Binduri Township and its surrounding areas.

The Minister warned to arrest and prosecute anyone discovered in possession of weapons or ammunition.

In the same vein, the Interior Minister extended the curfew for Bawku Municipality and the surrounding areas in the Upper East Region from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., with effect from Monday, September 29, 2025, based on the National Security Council’s recommendation and Executive Instrument.
